Due to the very high number of proposals received, the selection process will last until September 2008 and all applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission no later than end of September.

We believe that this massive rush and interest for the call of submitted symposia will contribute to put together a multidisciplinary, quality and international program and will lead to a successful congress.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the colleagues and members of the different IAGG committees for their efforts to submit a symposium proposal or for their collaboration in the diffusion of the information within their respective network.

The Call for Abstracts is open - Deadline: 31 January 2009

PThe Scientific Committee invites delegates to submit abstracts (for oral and poster communications) to be presented at the congress. The deadline for submission is 31/01/2009. Decisions about acceptance will be notified around one month after the submission.
The congress programme is primarily organised around four main themes:

When you submit your abstract, you are applying to one of these four themes.
The abstract must address scientific issues around a coherent theme of interest to a broad audience.

Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging to be published by Springer

As of January 2009, the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging (JNHA) will be listed in the journals catalogue of the scientific publisher Springer.  A forward-looking editorial policy has allowed for dynamic development of the journal since it was founded in 1997.  This year for the first time, it was included in the International Science Index (ISI) and was given a remarkable opening impact factor of 1.47.

The Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging publishes high-quality scientific articles, mainly on the interaction between nutrition and health in the aging process.  The editors of JNHA aim to present the latest scientific findings on the fundamental importance of nutrition during aging.  The journal is published ten times a year in English and targets researchers and clinicians.

The partnership with Springer from 2009 should help JNHA become more visible, particularly on the international stage, since all the articles will be available on its electronic platform www.SpringerLink.com.

The JNHA is an official journal of several scientific associations: the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG), the European Union Geriatric Medicine Society (EUGMS) and the International Academy of Nutrition and Aging (IANA).

The abstracts of the 19th IAGG World Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics will be published in the JNHA.
